Dent May And His Magnificent Ukelele is the latest signing to Animal Collective’s Paw Tracks label. He’s just released his first album, The Good Feeling Music Of…, and he’s been wowing listeners ever since his surprisingly fully-formed arrival on the music scene.
Eschewing Animal Collective’s experimental bent, Dent May instead remains true to their bold melodies and harmonies. His crooning voice, kitsch retro sound, Beach Boys melodies and vocal tags and easy listening style have provoked wonder and joy from many, including Drowned In Sound, who say “a champion of triumphant performance.”
Support comes from Cardiff’s Sweet Baboo. Having recently completed his second album, Baboo is sure to win plenty more fans in the coming months with his bittersweet tales of love, woe and exorcising felines.
