Another great Loose show and an excuse to post a photo of Rose on the site because I might be a little bit in love. This one is Tuesday 10th February in Clwb and is headlined by the former Pipette.
ROSE ELINOR DOUGALL (‘Rosay’), former polka-dot princess in The Pipettes, now has a new band which has taken her girlgroup background and developed it into something lyrically darker yet completely heartwarming, with influences of Stereolab, Broadcast, The Cocteau Twins and The Sundays. Her debut single ‘Another Version of Pop Song’ is released on 8th December (limited 7″/download).
“Dreamy, hazy and very un-Pipettesy music” – Pitchfork
“Replete with handclaps, mandolin, cutesy keyboards and a bittersweet narrative about falling in love, Another Version… has all the necessary ingredients to thaw even the frostiest hearts this winter” – Music Week
HARI AND AINO – female-fronted Swedish indiepop who have just released ‘A Considerate Kind of Home’ on the legendary Cloudberry Records
SOY UN CABALLO (Spanish for ‘I am a Horse’) are a Belgian duo who play very sophisticated, soft and dreamy pop – a must for fans of Stereolab. Their debut album ‘Les Heures de Raison’ was produced by Sean O’Hagan from High Llamas, and features Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy as a guest vocalist on one track singing in French.
Also on the bill are Silver Gospel Runners.
