Philadelphia’s The War On Drugs make lovely, swimming ambient folk-rock with a retro slant and a dreamlike quality not too far from acts such as Dead Meadow, Band Of Horses or Black Mountain. American music at its sentimental, country-inspired best.

Formed when singer Doran Edwards and drummer Craig Bowers met whilst working in a vintage clothes shop, where talk frequently turned to 50s pop, 60s girl groups, David Lynch movies, and The Beach Boys. It wasn’t long before guitarist James, and bassist Hugo were recruited.
